"An American master of the Irish instrument, a peripatetic
modern day bard, combining tale-telling, history and music into
a seamless compound that reaches all ages and types of listeners."
San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco, CA
"It's some of the most interesting and heart-stoppingly
gorgeous music to come along in some time...Ball plays with skill
and feeling, weaving intricate textures and rendering the centuries-old
material compelling from the first note...The harp itself sounds
so glorious that it's quite understandable why it's reputed to
be the instrument of choice among the angels."
The California Music Magazine, Los Angeles, CA

Combining
Music and Storytelling in Performance Workshop
Cost: $30
Unitarian Center, 4th and C Streets,
Ashland

"Is there anything sadder in this world of ours than poverty
of words."— an Irish storyteller
You may be a great musician technically, but it is a learned
art to keeping your audience interested in your performance.
Patrick Ball has perfected the art of combining his love of storytelling
and his fine musicianship on the wire-strung harp into a performance
that holds adults and kids inthralled. Participants will learn
skills to better connect with their listeners. You don't have
to be a professional musician to attend. Even if you just perform
for family and friends, you'll find new ways to engage them in
your performances. The workshop is open to anyone 12 and up.
Patrick is the recipient of the Circle of Excellence Award
from the National Storytelling Association.
